The main source of funding to carryout various activities of the foundation come from:

  • Personal contribution from the Board of Trustees of the Foundation;
  • Contribution from supporters and well-wishers of PNASF;
  • Voluntary contribution from public, both national and international;
  • Membership support;
  • Project funding support from Governmental and non-governmental organizations;
  • Sponsorship support from Governments, NGO’s, corporate and private sector companies, professionals,
  • societies and registered individual establishments for conducting various events, national and internationals;
  • Sale of technical publications;

Some of the important grants/support received are:
 
GRANTS RECEIVED
 
  • PNASF/ICV/2001: PNASF received a contribution from the Indian Society for Vegetable Science as a seed money for implementation of the International Conference on Vegetables (ICV). PNASF approved grant for the ICV.
  • PNASF/AHUJA/2001: PNASF received a grant from Dr. K. G. Ahuja towards the award of scholarship to post-graduate students in floriculture/horticulture.
  • PNASF/LOA/RAP/2002: PNASF received funds from the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for undertaking a field study entitled "Gender considerations in managing organic farming for food security & livelihood: Case Study in Karnataka".
  • PNASF/FAO/IUC/2001-02: PNASF received a grant from the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for the implementation of the project entitled "Hybrid Seed Production in Vegetable Crops by Physically Handicapped & Destitute People".
  • PNASF/SFAC/2001-02: The PNASF received fund from Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium, New Delhi to undertake economic studies.
  • PNASF/FAO/UPA/2005: PNASF received a grant from the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for the implementation of the international workshop on ‘Institutional and technical capacity building on urban and peri-urban agriculture in Asia’, June 29 – July 02, 2005 at Bangalore.
  • PNASF/SUN/WD-SHG/2005: PNASF received grant from Dr. (Mrs.) Sundari Velu, USA to develop a programme on promotion of marginal rural women through Self-Help Group. The programme entitled ‘Doctor Sundari – Rural Women’ will be initiated beginning 2006.
  • PNASF/Dharmsheela/2005: PNASF received a grant from Dr. Prem Nath, Bangalore towards the promotion of post-graduate education of women in agriculture and food in India in the form of instituting a scholarship in the name of his wife Late Acharya Dharmsheela Nath. The PNASF-Dharmsheela Nath Scholarship will be initiated beginning 2006.
  • PNASF/MHPS/2005: PNASF received grant from Dr. Bijoyendra Nath, USA towards this project
  • PNASF/VELU/2002: PNASF received grant from Dr. (Mrs.) Sundari Velu, USA towards the activities of PNASF, Bangalore.
  • PNASF/MHPS/2005: In order to support the ongoing project – Biological Science and Nutrition (PNASF/MHPS/2005) for the students of the Government Model Higher Primary School (GMHPS), Geddalahalli, Bangalore, the authorities of the Canara Bank have approved of a grant of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only).
  • PNASF/MHPS/2005: PNASF received grant from Mr. Ashish Ahuja, USA towards the the activities of the PNASF project- PNASF/MHPS-2005/Biological Sciences and Nutrition for the benefit of the school children in enhancing the knowledge on nutrition security.
  • PNASF/Hortivar/2002: FAO jointly with the PNASF organized the HORTIVAR Training Programme for three days to the benefit of the participants of the International conference on Horticulture (ICH-2009) during November 9-12, 2009 at Bangalore.

PNASF GRANTS AWARDED
 
  • Noble Contribution to the PNASF: The PNASF received a grant from Dr. K.G. Ahuja, PNASF TAC Member from USA, to utilize this fund in promoting the activities of the PNASF project-Biological Sciences and Nutrition for the benefit of the school children in enhancing the knowledge on nutrition security, which is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated by the PNASF Board of Trustees. The PNASF extends grateful thanks to Dr. K. G. Ahuja for his noble contribution.
  • PNASF/AHS/2001-02: PNASF awarded a grant to the Agri-Horticultural Society, Hyderabad for the implementation of the project entitled "Top Working of Mango".
  • PNASF / VEGINET / 2003: PNASF approved the contribution as seed money to the Vegetable Science International Network (VEGINET) in order to initiate functioning of VEGINET Secretariat beginning March 2003.
  • PNASF / UAS / 2003: PNASF granted fund to the ICAR National Potato Workshop for documentation held at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Hebbal from 5-7 September, 2003
  • PNASF/MHMML/2004: PNASF, Bangalore contributed funds to the Dr. M. H. Marigowda Horticultural Education and Research Foundation, Bangalore, towards organizing the Dr. M. H. Marigowda Memorial Lectures.
  • PNASF/APOF/2004: PNASF, Bangalore co-sponsored the National seminar on ‘Operational Methodologies and Package of Practices in Organic Farming’ organized by the Association for Promotion of Organic Framing (APOF), Bangalore in association with Vittal Mallya Scientific & Research Foundation (VMSRF), Bangalore held at Kannada Sabhangana, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore on October 7-9, 2004.
  • PNASF/MHPS/2005: PNASF granted a project for the education of biological science and nutrition to the students of the Model Higher Primary School, Geddalahalli, Bangalore.
  • PNASF/SPONSORSHIP/2010: PNASF Sponsored the National Seminar on Organic Terrace Gardening organized by the AME Foundation, APOF, UAS Alumni and IIHR, Bangalore held on September 9-10, 2010 at Hebbal, Bangalore.
  • PNASF/AAPMHE/2007: PNASF contributed to the Association for Advancement of Pest Management in Horticultural Ecosystems (AAPMHE), Bangalore to organize the ‘3rd National Symposium on Plant Protection in Horticultural Crops: Emerging Trends and Challenges’ held during March 7 -9, 2007 at the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Hessaraghatta, Bangalore.
  • PNASF/International Travel Assistance/2009: The PNASF granted travel assistance to Prof. Jules Janick, USA and Dr. San San Yi, Myanmar to participate in the International Conference on Horticulture (ICH-2009) in Bangalore.
  • PNASF/Travel Assistance/2010: The first award was granted to Dr. H. P. Sumangala of the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) to present the paper entitled “Horticulture of the Taj Mahal: Gardens of the Imagination” as a coauthor with Prof. Jules Janick, Purdue University, USA during the International Horticulture Congress (IHC-2010) organized by the International Society for Horticultural Science in Lisbon, Portugal on August 22-27, 2010.
